Ingredients

Ingredients for Banana Bread:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups mashed bananas (3-4 medium bananas)
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 2/3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cups chocolate chips

Tips & Tricks:

  • Butter: Makes sure the butter is nice and soft before creaming. Otherwise you will end up with pockets of unincorporated butter and sugar in the end batter.
  • Bananas: This recipe is a great way to use up bananas at the end of their life. When bananas get brown add them to your freezer and then defrost them for this recipe. If you don’t have defrosted bananas then be sure to mash your bananas very well before adding to the recipe.
  • Additional Add Ins: This recipe is great with chocolate chips or even nuts added fro some crunch and sweetness.
  • Storage: Wrap the banana bread in tin foil or an air tight wrap, it will keep for a week. Or freeze for up to 3 months.
  • Muffins: This recipe also makes great muffins. Instead of baking in a loaf pan add the batter to a lined muffin tin and bake for 25-30 minutes.
