It’s Canada day weekend! This Canada day strawberry cran soda is a great way to kick off the celebration! With lots of ice, and a little bit or magic you can get this Canada flag reminiscent drink. It not only looks super good but it also super delicious.
For the adults out there you can also spice up this drink with a shot of vodka. Add that at the same time as your sprite or just accept that things will end up all mixed together. Canada day strawberry cran soda is a great way to be festive especially if your Canadian like I am!
Ingredients:
- Cranberry juice (you can also try adding some grenadine to the bottom of your glass to make the red colour even more saturated)
- Sprite
- Ice
- Sliced strawberries
Tips & Tricks:
- Slicing Strawberries: I like to slice the strawberries into little dollars. This makes it really easy to layer the strawberries on top of the ice with out having them fall in between the cracks. This will give you a much better overall layer effect.
- Keeping the layers separate: The key to making this work is lots of ice. And i mean lots of it. The ice provides a barrier between the 2 liquids when pouring. Try not to pour the sprite onto just the plain cranberry juice as they will blend together based on the force, pouring on the ice breaks the fall. As for the strawberries if you didn’t over fill your glass you should be able to slowly layer the strawberries onto your ice one by one.
- Adult Version: Add a shot or 2 depending on your glass size and preference or vodka to make this a fancy vodka cranberry.
- For Americans: You can do this exact same thing to make an American flag coloured drink. Swap the strawberries for blueberries or swap the cranberry juice for a blue gatorade perhaps.
