Sometimes you have a holiday party or some friends over and need something delicious that will hold up on the table while you chat. These fig jam & pumpkin seed bruschetta bites are the perfect appetizer. They are sweet with a little bit of crunch and added nuttiness. Plus you can use up all of the pumpkin seeds or pipitas you may have collected from halloween.

This recipe has very few ingredients because each of them shines in such a distinct way! All you have to do is toast some baguette slices and top with a creamy cheese mixture, fig jam and pipitas!

Ingredients:

  • Baguette
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt/pepper
  • Cream cheese
  • Goat cheese- at least 4 oz.
  • Honey
  • Fig Jam
  • Pumpkin seeds

Tips & Tricks:

  • Cream Cheese: Make sure you let the cream cheese sit out and come to room temperature before trying to mix. If it is too cold the cream cheese with stay in clumps. Microwaving it will not work.
  • Toast Your Bread: Toasting the baguette adds a nice bit of crunch and helps keep sturdy after adding the toppings.
  • Olive Oil vs Butter: Either will work for brushing onto the bread so you what you have got! If using butter I recommend melting it first.
  • Make Ahead: You can mix the cheeses ahead of time and assemble whenever you are ready. Same goes for your fig jam.

Cheese, Fig Jam, Baguette and pumpkin seeds together make a delicious sweet bruschetta. Great for when guests come to visit.

Ingredients

  • Baguette

  • Extra virgin olive oil

  • Salt/pepper

  • Cream cheese (softened)

  • Goat cheese- at least 4 oz.

  • Honey

  • Pumpkin seeds

  • Fig Jam

Directions

  • Start by slicing the baguette into 3/4 inch rounds. Lightly brush each piece with some olive oil.
  • Place the baguette on the lined baking sheet and toast in the oven for 5-7 minutes at 350º. Flip over at half way point. If you notice the bread getting extra toasty or too brown remove them from the oven.
  • In a medium bowl mix together the softened cream cheese, goat cheese and honey until fully combined.
  • Spread the cheese on top of the toasted baguette and then add a tsp or 2 of fig jam on top. Spread the jam out evenly on top of the cheese.
  • Top with pumpkin seeds or pipitas and enjoy!
