Oatmeal doesn’t have to be boring. You can add all kind of different flavour combinations to liven it up. This peaches & cream oatmeal is delicious. Its got all of the natural sweetness from your peach paired with the creaminess of a little half and half drizzled on top.

The best part about peaches & cream oatmeal is that it doesn’t take very many ingredients or even much time. It’s a great way to utilize seasonal summer produce. Oatmeal is hearty and filling, leaving you energized for the day!

Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 Tbsp light brown sugar, more if desired
  • dash of salt
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • 1 fresh peach, diced
  • 1 Tbsp half and half

Tips & Tricks:

  • Peaches: Look for ripe peaches at your local farmers market or stand. These will make for the most flavourful outcome. You can use canned peaches too but I would add them after cooking your oatmeal so they stay intact. You can also add some of the peach liquid to the oatmeal either as a syrup on top or when cooking instead of the brown sugar.
  • Oats: I like to use rolled oats, they are better for your digestion. They might take longer to cook though. You could use instant oats though and cook this mixture in your microwave to save time.
