There is nothing quite like a fresh glass of ice cold lemonade. On a hot summers day it can be so refreshing and sweet. When you make it yourself you can also be in complete control of how strong the tart lemon flavour is or how sweet it is. While the pink part of this lemonade is completely just for aesthetics it sure is fun!

It will take you no time at all to whip together this delicious drink for you and your friends. You probably have everything you need already in your pantry. The interesting thing that most people don’t know about pink lemonade is that is essentially just regular lemonade with the addition of grenadine! The grenadine provides such a nice pink hue to the drink and adds a little sweetness too. Grenadine is a cherry flavoured syrup but i assure you this will not make your lemonade taste like cherries.

Pink Lemonade Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 6 lemons)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 cups cold water
  • 2 Tbsp grenadine
  • 1 lemon, unpeeled and thinly sliced for garnish (optional)

Tips & Tricks:

  • Juicing the Lemons: To get more juice our of you lemons you can roll them on your counter top.
  • Grenadine: You can find this simple syrup in the cocktail mixing section of your local grocery store.
  • Add Water: This recipe calls for 5 cups of water but you can add more if you find the flavour too strong. This is the pitcher that I used to make this recipe. It’s 2 litres in size and fits perfectly in my fridge.

I love mixing together the lemonade once you have added the grenadine it looks like a beautiful sunset. You can add extra slices of lemon into the pitcher or your glass for a nice decorative flare.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 6 lemons)

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 5 cups cold water

  • 2 Tbsp grenadine

  • 1 lemon, unpeeled and thinly sliced for garnish (optional)

Directions

  • Combine lemon juice and sugar in a pitcher. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
  • Add cold water and grenadine, stir to combine.
  • Add a few ice cubes to the pitcher to chill the lemonade down. Serve immediately, or refrigerate until serving time.
  • Serve poured over ice. Garnish with lemon slices, if desired.
