Spiked Eggnog is a great holiday drink to share with friends and family. You could make your own egg nog but I have found that this recipe works just as well with store bought eggnog. It will also save you a lot of time! This is a nice warm flavoured drink. With a little cinnamon sprinkled on top the nuttiness provided by the amaretto.

After making this drink my husband basically inhaled it. Its creamy and sweet and not overpowering in the alcohol flavours. I ended up making the spiked eggnog again for our family Christmas party and it was a big hit.

Ingredients & Storage:

  • You can easily make this lactose free but substituting the egg nog with lactose free egg nog.
  • You can make spiked eggnog the day before an event and it will be good. Just be sure to stir it up again before serving. This drink will nto last multiple days in the fridge though because the milk will eventually begin to curdle with all the extra alcohol in it.
  • You can substitute sprinkled cinnamon on top with a little bit of nutmeg for a similar warm spice.
  • Spiced Run also makes a great swap for just plain white rum.

If you are already a fan of egg nog you are sure to like this drink. It pears well with some holiday cookies that you might have lying around around like gingerbread men for instance.
